About the Fair

The Ann Arbor State Street District Art Fair is an award winning art fair that, along with three other art fairs, transform Ann Arbor, Michigan into one of the most admired and largest art fair destinations in the country. For more than 50 years, over 400,000 fair goers have descended upon the streets of Ann Arbor for three days every July.

A juried fair, the Ann Arbor State Street District Art Fair distinguishes itself by showcasing an eclectic mix of the finest art and hand-crafted items by talented artists alongside local businesses amid the beautiful skyline of Ann Arbor’s historic theater district. With its emerging artists section, the State Street District Art Fair continually looks at developing the artists and talent for the next 50 years as it continues to host the best Midwest art fair.


Fine Art

Located on Liberty, North University, Maynard, and East William

Discover original, high-quality artwork from talented artists across the country. Each exhibitor is carefully selected through a juried process led by working artists and arts professionals, ensuring a diverse and exceptional fine art experience.

From painting and ceramics to photography, glass, wood, and more—every piece is created by hand and presented by the artist themselves. Whether you're an avid collector or just exploring, the fair offers a unique opportunity to connect with inspiring work and the people behind it.

Marketplace

Located on Liberty, State, and Thompson

Step into the Marketplace and discover a vibrant collection of over 90 creative vendors offering handcrafted goods and unique finds. This lively area of the fair features a wide range of items—including pet products, kids' gear, bath and beauty essentials, stylish fashion and accessories, home décor, artisan foods, and more.

The Marketplace celebrates the makers, crafters, and small businesses bringing everyday creativity to life. With such a wide variety of offerings, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Food & Sidewalk Sales

Located throughout the Entire Fair

The Ann Arbor State Street District Art Fair distinguishes itself by showcasing an eclectic mix of the finest art by talented artists alongside its local businesses amid the beautiful skyline of Ann Arbor’s historic theater district.

The retail climate explodes with a host of merchant displays and food of all kinds as outdoor shoppers search for sales or relax while enjoying a beverage or meal amid the throngs of artist displays.

Parking fee: $20 per day; $10 after 5PM

  • Liberty Square Structure - 410 E. Washington St.

  • Liberty Lane Underground Structure - 319 South Fifth St.

  • Thayer Parking Structure - 300 South Thayer St.

  • Thompson Street Parking Structure - 500 Thompson St.

    Saturday, 9AM—9PM

  • Shuttles run every 10—15 minutes

  • Pets are not allowed; service animals are welcomed

  • Buses and shuttles are wheelchair accessible and air-conditioned

  • Kids 5 and under ride free

  • Shuttle stops: Main Street at William Street; State Street near South University Street (see Map)

2024 Free Wheelchair Rental

sponsor - trinity health

Stop by two different wheelchair rental tents at this year’s event in order to borrow a wheelchair to more easily navigate this 30 city block event! The free wheelchair rental program is Presented By Trinity Health with wheelchairs provided by Binson’s. A driver’s license will be required at the time of rental.

Wheelchairs can be picked up and dropped off near:

  • Madison + State Street

  • Fletcher + E. Washington


A2 Emergency Alerts

Are you attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair as a visitor or vendor? The City of Ann Arbor encourages everyone to sign up to receive emergency notifications from the A2 Emergency Alert system.

To register, text A2ARTFAIR(in all caps) to 888777. The communications will only be sent to your phone during the fair.
